Brazil exported 2.471 million tons of sugar and molasses in the month of May (22 working days), with accumulated revenue of R$ 1.16 billion, according to the Foreign Trade Secretariat (Secex) in a release this Thursday (1st). . In the last few days alone, more than 1.20 million tons of products were shipped.
In the whole of last month, Brazil exported 971,592 thousand tons of products related to the sugar-energy sector. In the entire month of May 2022 (22 working days), exports of sugar and molasses totaled 1.567 million tons and total revenue of US$ 606.38 million.
In the analyzes of tons per daily average, sugar and molasses exports totaled 112.32 thousand t/day in the period, 57.6% higher than in the same period of 2022 (71.26 thousand t/day). In addition, prices for product shipments in the period are more than 57% higher, at US$ 470.60/t.
