Ports of Paraná closes ties with Spanish leaders and investors

Public company participated in an exchange in the European country that included business days and visits to port facilities in Madrid, Valencia, and Barcelona

Portos do Paraná participated in the Ports Mission for Brazilians and Colombians in Spain between May 27th and 31st. The mission aimed to foster cooperation between the countries in the logistics and port sphere. The public company was represented by Administrative and Financial Director Marcos Bonoski.

The exchange included visits to the ports of Madrid, Valencia, and Barcelona and business days with potential investors from the Iberian country. The invitation came from the Spanish government to improve efficiency in logistics processes and share good practices in the field of sustainability.

“It was a very fruitful week in which we could once again present the ports of Paranaguá and Antonina to Spanish businesspeople and government representatives. We took them to the current stage of the administration of Portos do Paraná, our achievements, such as the movement of 65 million tons in 2023 and the four consecutive trophies for being the most efficient in Brazil, in addition to investment plans such as the concessions for the PAR14, PAR15 and PAR25 areas and the Access Channel and the future Moegão with an investment of almost R$600 million”, highlighted Bonoski.

The Director of Portos do Paraná spoke alongside representatives from the Ports of Santos, Itajaí, Rio de Janeiro, and Companhia Docas de São Sebastião “This exchange of experiences is very beneficial and shows the importance that the Ports of Paranaguá and Antonina have in the world. global economy and is integrated in the search for modern solutions to improve even further. The Spanish have been working to increasingly integrate and optimize logistical processes while seeking to neutralize carbon emissions, and we are also preparing for this”, Bonoski pointed out.

The Spanish Embassy in Brazil organized the meeting between representatives of Brazilian and Colombian ports and sectors of the Spanish government. “Brazil is a strategic partner in maritime transport, logistics, and the supply chain, and we are grateful for the participation of Portos do Paraná and we hope that this activity can contribute to further strengthening the ties between ports and companies in both countries”, concluded Urbano Garcia Murillo, Economic and Commercial advisor at the Spanish Embassy.
