Paranagua – ANTAQ recommended government call a breach in the contract with Transpetro, a Petrobras company that handle the port terminal.
The ANTAQ (National Transport Waterways Agency) has fined Transpetro, a Petrobras company, in R$ 157, 5 million and has recommended the federal government to consider cancelling the contract with this state company, which run the tanker terminal in the port of Paranagua.
ANTAQ claimed that Transpetro fails very often to comply with the terms of the contractual concession the company has in the tanker terminal at Paranagua.
In 2015, ANTAQ fined transpetro heavily for failing to carry out the improvement works, which was clearly specified in the contract, such as, building a new pier and increase of the draft alongside. ANTAQ claims that such needs are actually 12 years overdue. ANTAQ has been trying to reach an agreement with Transpetro but it has proved to be impossible.
