A delegation from the United States Department of Commerce in Brazil visited the Port of Paranaguá this Friday (22). The department seeks to bring the American private sector closer to Brazilian business partnership opportunities. The CEO of Portos do Paraná, Luiz Fernando Garcia, the general secretary, Felipe Gama, and the operational director, Gabriel Vieira, presented the current projects and investments planned for the ports of Paraná.
“We have a lot of contact with the Spanish, with the Dutch, and now we have the Americans on this path of interests, discussing strategic partnerships, from the preparation of studies, in addition to the participation of American companies in construction, infrastructure and local development. This meeting signals that Paraná is very well placed among the main players in the world”, highlighted Garcia.
The commercial advisor, Joel Reynoso, the commercial specialist, Fabiola Rios, and the commercial assistant, Carlos Ferreira, had access to the realistic model of the ports of Antonina and Paranaguá and then visited the pier in Paranaguá.
“We know that Portos do Paraná is truly one of the best in the sector, and we, as a commercial service within the embassies, always have American companies, which can help by providing services or equipment that fit well with the needs of the port”, he highlighted. Reynoso.
The institution has a commercial promotion sector, called commercial service, which makes contact with both the public and private sectors. There are more than 100 offices in the United States, operating in more than 70 countries. In Brazil, there are five offices located in Brasília, Belo Horizonte, Recife, Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo.
“Here [in Paranaguá] there is a great advantage of being a bolder port in terms of innovation and of thinking further ahead, thinking about the differentiated management model. This open mind towards innovative solutions to improve efficiency has a lot of synergy with what the United States has to offer, being a path of strategic partnerships, really, both between ports and between companies”, explained Fabiola.
According to data from the Ministry of Industry, Foreign Trade and Services, the United States is in third place in movement of both imports and exports of goods in Paraná.
