The container ship Paris II will change its name and crew after docking at the Port of Paranaguá this Tuesday (30). The change comes after the purchase of the ship by the shipowner MSC Shipping, which will change the ship’s name to MSC Brasilia VII, in honor of the capital of Brazil.
For environmental safety reasons, changing the name of the vessel at the Port of Paranaguá pier is not authorized, so the vessel will leave with the old name on the hull, but will officially have the new name on the navigation documents, as well as the new crew.
The MSC Brasilia VII is 299 meters long and 40.3 meters wide and is called an extra call (a ship that does not have a regular line in port). The vessel came from Asia and after docking in Paranaguá it will return to the Asian continent.
