Vehicle production grew 16.6% in October, with the manufacture of 288.5 thousand units. According to the balance released today (6) by the National Association of Automotive Vehicle Manufacturers (Anfavea), the number represents an increase of 9.6% compared to October 2018. In the first ten months of the year, were produced 2.55 million. of vehicles, an increase of 3.6% from the 2.46 million manufactured from January to October last year.
Sales were up 7.9% in October compared to September this year, but 0.5% retraction compared to the same month of 2018, when 254.7 thousand vehicles were sold. In October this year, 253,400 cars were sold. In the first ten months of the year, the number of new units was 2.28 million, up 8.7% over the same period last year.
Exports registered a fall of 34.7% from January to October, with the sale of 367.5 thousand units in the foreign market. In the same period last year, sales abroad totaled 563,000 vehicles. In October the retraction was 22.6% compared to the same month last year, with the export of 30 thousand vehicles.
Employment fell by 2.8% in October this year compared to the same period last year, with 127.724 thousand people working in the sector.
