According to the US Trade Representative, the US should initiate talks on possible exemption from tariffs on steel and aluminum
The United States is expected to begin talks with Brazil soon about possible exemption from import tariffs on steel and aluminum, US Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer said on Wednesday.
In a US House of Representatives committee hearing, Lighthize said talks with the European Union, Argentina and Australia have begun.
Lighthizer added that talks with South Korea on any possible exemptions will be made in the context of existing trade negotiations with Seoul.
The US has already granted exemptions for Canada and Mexico from the tariffs that were imposed earlier this month by President Donald Trump.
