We have been informed today that the TCP terminal should commence the construction of its new pier extension on the 2nd of April 2018 and the whole job should take about 3 months working straight. All licenses have been obtained after going through long and tiresome negotiations with environmental authorities and locals.
The job of extension with be done in the southeast side of the main quay as from pier 217 toward and englobing the actual mooring dolphins namely pier 218. After the new pier wall is ready then the whole rearward spot will be filled up, job which has already started and seems to going somewhat fast.
In the meantime, ships, which call the mooring dolphins, should be deviated to call shed 215,216 and 217 disputing berthing with full container ships. The programme is still subject to port authority study and consideration.
