Paranagua – Ponta do Felix Terminal at Antonina draft reduction from 9.00 metres to 7.50 metres.
As we have reported several times, the draft alongside Ponta do Felix terminal, in the port of Antonina located 11 miles upriver, and has long declined in its official depth officialised by the port in 9.00 metres. This deterioration could be seeing in the last 5 years because of its constant silting that happen along the years. For over a year, the terminal was not accepting vessels arrive and departure from the berth with more than 7.30 metres for safety reasons and many was declared to touch in the ground. Today the port authority dispatched a note saying that exceptionally and for preventive reason and transitory , it has been altered the description of Service order 036/18 , page 8, table 5.2.2 whereas ready maximum draft at Ponta do Felix 9.00 metres to 7.50 metres. The water density in that berth ranges from 1011 to 1014 oz.
