With 7,1 thousand tons shipped per day in the month, paranaense aviculture exported 449.1 thousand tons in the third quarter of 2018, a record number for the sector in the state
September maintained good results for poultry industry in the second half of the year. According to data from the Secretariat of Foreign Trade (Secex), linked to the Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade (MDIC), Paraná obtained its second best daily average of exports of chicken meat of the year, with 7.1 thousand tons (7.7 thousand tons per day), and the seventh month of the year had only 19 working days, the lowest mark of 2018.
In total, the paranaense poultry shipped 135.5 thousand tons of chicken meat in September, closing the third quarter of the year with 449.1 thousand tons, a historical record for state poultry. During this period, Paraná obtained, for the first time in the year, US $ 200 million of revenues in each of the three months, totaling US $ 705.2 million.
“These numbers show how Paraná has a structure that guarantees production efficiency, even after the adversities of the first half. Proof of this is that we have increased our participation in national exports, being responsible for 38% of shipments this month, “says the president of the Union of Poultry Products Industries of the State of Paraná (Sindiavipar), Domingos Martins.
The main importer of Brazilian chicken meat, Saudi Arabia increased 79.3% of its imports of animal protein from Paraná in September, rising from 9.7 thousand tons in August to 17.4 thousand tons in the seventh month of the year. The figures should be a trend for the state, as the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply (Map) issued a note guaranteeing the Saudis’ stay as Brazil’s trading partners, after speculation at the end of the bond during the year.
