The trade agreement between Mercosur and the European Union should be closed “in the coming weeks”. The statement is by Marcos Troyjo, special secretary of Foreign Trade and International Affairs of the Ministry of Economy.
“We are very close and optimistic that we will be able to overcome [any differences]. We want to make an agreement as long as there is no harm to the economic agents of Mercosur, “said Troyjo on Wednesday after speaking at the opening of the World Congress of Chambers of Commerce in Rio.
“We are very close, but well beaten penalty is the one where the ball enters. The game has to end. We will not do anything that is not in Brazil’s interest.”
A few days ago, Paulo Guedes had said that the Mercosur-EU agreement would come out in three or four weeks.
